A verse from a song named Alice written by Cheryl Wheeler back in 2000. Cheryl was staying in the East Bay Hotel at Grand Marais, Minnesota where Alice worked the night desk. After her show, Cheryl went back to the hotel, and got talking to Alice. They spent several hours talking and Cheryl got inspired to wrote this song.
